Melbourne, FL – (February 23, 2012) EMS announced today that is will soon release versions of its popular Omni and Fortis products formulated especially for the paper manufacturing industries. These products will also carry the EPA’s Design for Environment certification and will be certified for direct release, the first and only products for the paper/pulp industry to earn this distinction from the U.S. EPA.

“EMS is always looking for new industries where our patented technologies can replace the dangerous acids, caustics and solvents so prevalent in today’s industries,” said John MacDonald, President of EMS. “The paper/pulp industry has only had those dangerous options to effectuate steps crucial to their processes. With products proven safe and that biodegrade 100% in less than 10 days, and other formulations for the paper/pulp market on the way, EMS is confident that it will be able to help paper mills significantly improve their safety and environmental profile.”

The synthetic properties of EMS formulas allow customers to replace several steps, each involving a dangerous chemical, with a single product. Time savings and simplification of training aside, EMS products carry a triple-zero HMIS score and have been recognized by the US EPA’s Design for Environment program, including certification for direct release and unmatched safety profile. This represents a major advantage to customers currently dealing with products that only increase the CODs and BODs in their process water stream.

“EMS has been conducting testing since September 2011 with an industry giant at plants in the United States and Canada,” said Tim Otto, Vice President of Sales at EMS. “During these trials, the EMS products not only outperformed the highly toxic biocides, caustics, liquid chlorine and solvents but did so at no risk to the employees, equipment or the environment. In fact, union workers specifically mentioned how much more pleasant EMS products were to use. EMS products have been proven effective for slime control, water treatment, felt cleaning, gum buildup and many other tasks.”

EMS will soon announce partners in the US and Canadian markets and will be expanding the offering to its overseas dealers this year.
